Software Platform and tools

Of course I would like to break this out into specifics like database, IDE, etc. but discourse is terribly unstructured inside a Topic.

Anyway thanks @andrew_coral for your earlier post on what you are using found here (will it change?):

Could you post the link to the complete tool set used and some information about your hardware?

Perhaps you could just screen shot something into a post here?

Many thanks,
Dave’s Cat.

All of our technical documentation is here: https://coralproject.github.io/talk/

We don’t host anyone’s Talk or Ask installs, so there isn’t any hardware information to share. The minimum recommended machine should be in the docs above. Let me know if you have any questions!

Yes I read the page again and am now going through the tool set.

Redis stands out as a bonus.

Mongo is fine and I am just reviewing the compound indexing again.

Why Yarn? (Just looking at it, seems NPM like)

To my chagrin, I missed something important the first time:

“Once you’ve completed the installation, you can visit http://127.0.0.1:3000/ where you can view our development area where we test out features in Talk where you can write comments and see them in the admin interface where you can do moderation and reconfigure the user experience.”

Oops. Didn’t see that… Regards, D. Horseman.

BTW: As an evaluator, my prior knowledge consists of nube dev level exposure to SPAs via ASP Core (emergent) and Angular 2. And an overview of competing dominant tech at the time. Previously, hand coded JavaScript [research], HTML and CSS. As for my cat, he mainly knows cat stuff.
